At the same time the serpent crawled on Hope’s body,
still trying to persuade her. “Listen to me! Listen!
Shed no tears over one simple man!
He’s not worth a penny, he’s just a simple hunter!”

“No, no, no…Freedom is my treasure. I need nothing more.
I will never obey the terrible Móhrdai! You’d better understand that!”

Suddenly, at the caves, a loud signal of alarm
cut through the still air of the night. In a moment, thousands of torches were lit
and the light threw distorted shadows of running figures onto the rocks.

Soon the noise of screaming guards and battle
reached the cave entrance. The men outside didn’t hesitate
and made their way in, rushing to help Freedom and the brothers.

The battle was fierce. The Aghárians were coming by the hundreds,
so the twelve men had climbed onto a small terrace
protruding from the vertical wall of rock and fought for their lives.
The fearsome sound of the guards’ swords
was mixing with the swishing of the arrows and the loud
smashing of hatchets onto the shields.

Móhrdai couldn’t believe his ears when he was told
about this brazen intrusion. Soon the bewilderment from
what he heard grew into an outburst of rage.
“Humans? In here? Catch them! Kill them at once!”
He sent for his mother and Gamóhra,
then rushed on to meet them.

“Móhrdai,” whispered Gamóhra.
“It is now a perfect opportunity to get rid of the peasant boy too.
We must find out if he is among these fools.
Show them the girl and he will expose himself.
After his death you can be at ease again.”
“Yes, what a grand idea!
Only you, my dear sister could be so clever.
Guards! Bring the girl here!”
ordered Móhrdai, while putting on his armour.

Hundreds of ferocious guards were setting upon the doomed dozen.
The men couldn’t hold on longer than a couple more hours.
Their way out was completely cut-off.
Freedom and his men knew they were going to die.
And so, the battle raged on…

Two guards, advanced to the the reptilian overlord,
anxiously waiting for his beautiful prisoner.
“Master, the girl is not in her cave,
she must have escaped during the battle.”
said one of them in a frightened voice.
