After a few desperate hours of searching for escape, Hope suddenly felt
some fresh air coming through a tiny crack in the rock.
She followed it and soon found an opening, just big enough
for her to slowly creep out of the cave.

Frightened, she flew up in the night sky, desperately seeking escape.
As she ascended, to her horror, she felt Reptilah – wrapped around her leg.
“Oh, what is that nasty thing crawling on me?”
She tried to get free with a frightened scream,
which awoke the crow, sleeping on a nearby tree.
Soon, Grey was also up there in the sky.

The cruel Reptilah hissed, flicking her tongue.
“You stupid girl, I sneaked in the cave with you.
Did you really think I would let you escape just like that?
Return to my son Móhrdai at once!”

“No! I love Freedom and want to be with him!”

“Hmmm…If my son sees you both together,
he will kill your friend! If you want to save Freedom,
you must forget him, otherwise his death will be certain.
Know this, girl – when my son wants something
nothing can stop him – he always gets what he wants.”

“Please have mercy ! Freedom is innocent!”
Hope whispered and quietly started to cry…

“Descend, I command you!” said Reptilah impatiently.

“No! As long as I am up here, Freedom is safe.
This is my only way to save his life!
No, I will never come down, ever!”
And so, Hope was flying away from her prison,
the snake still coiled around her in a tight grip.

Freedom and his group had just reached the Black caves.
The air was heavy, the stench of decomposing flesh
hit their lungs while they were hiding the horses.

Strange music was floating in the air from
the guard camp placed just outside the main entrance.
Large piles of human and animal bones were growing
around the camp and the shadows thrown by the camp fires
made the sight even more terrifying.

Freedom and Hope’s brothers crawled behind the guards
and entered the large cave, while the others
waited silently in the woods outside.
