They rather anticipated what the other had to say.
“A boy was just born in our village,” the Hunter said carefully,
“but dare I ask why are you out here so late?”
“A baby was born to the Eagles too. A girl,” the Eagle answered.
“It seems that The Legend is coming to life!”
The Wiseman was smiling and quietly whispering:
“We must protect them with all possible means.
They are our future, without them we will surely perish.”
A new hope was born and the wait had been long.
The horsemen soon returned to their people
and awakened them all with the tidings.
They named the girl Hope and the boy – Freedom,
as everyone knew what was going to happen…
Whispers spread quickly about these events
and soon reached the Black caverns.
Móhrdai was shaking in wrath.
He rushed out and called for his mother and sister,
impatiently asking, “Now what shall I do?”
Gamóhra then quietly calmed him down.
“Be at ease my brother, worry not, this is nonsense…
To be certain, I could cast a curse on the newborn girl.
I could ……” she stopped for a second, as though choosing
from all the evil things she could do.
“I could take her sight…yes… scorch her eyes…ha, ha… Mmmm…
An Eagle no more, just a blind little dove she will be.
With her darkened eyes she will never see the boy from the Hunters.
Thus they could never fall in love…
Then Reptilah spoke.
Móhrdai! Could we send your crow to the Mountain?
I have an important task for him.
Grey!” she commanded with a strong voice.
“Yes, madam,” responded the Crow at once.
“Fly up to the village of the Eagles,” ordered Reptilah
“I am sure you will find this child easily.
Enter the house in stealth and bring me a small tuft of the baby’s hair.
Hmmm……The rest we’ll leave to mother,” she said quietly.
Soon, the witch received the tuft of hair
and cast the curse with a cruel smile on her lips.
With gleeful malice whilst holding hands,
they laughed in a trance around the fire.
The Black Caves were still well-protected
and none could threaten Móhrdai now.
